August 13, 2010: Watch your thoughts

It's just a reminder, to watch your thoughts. Both in what they are but more importantly, from a mindfulness standpoint, to just be the observer or witness of your thoughts and don't identify with them.

Helene Hadsell, the Winning Sage (website: http://blog.thewinningsage.com) had this to say in a post I saw today:
A REMINDER. I still receive letters, emails and phone calls from people asking me to direct energy toward their goals, desires, and wishes. Most of the requests include winning the lottery, finding a mate, getting a job, or being healed from a physical challenge. I address all of the requests because I’m certain that our energy is the source that makes things happen. It has always worked for me. After I concentrate on the person’s name and their request I always add, “if this is for their highest good.” I do this because I have no idea what they are to learn for the request that is now so important to them. Perhaps they still have karmic imprints that need to be balanced? Is there still a lesson that they need to learn if they are stuck in a situation that is bleak? Trust me-if they accumulated good karma with sacrifices and good deeds in the past, they will be rewarded with what you might interpret as ‘good luck’ and their rewards will be showered on them when they ask. I’m not suggesting that because you do not win the lottery or have your desires and goals met immediately that your future as a happy-healthy-successful person will never be yours; what I’m saying is that there are never any failures…only a delay in results. You can balance any negative karma this lifetime when you have a serious ‘Mental Housecleaning.’ I explain how this can be resolved in your Blueprint by affirming, “In the past I was___________etc. I refuse to live in the past; I am now centered, sincere and sorry for all my past misbehavior."

I am curious in reading or hearing about things that serve as good food for thought. And I am also reminded that they are also just words. Something to consider and if there is some merit, to reflect on. But ultimately to also let them go, along with everything else. But knowing that it does begin with the mind chatter that we all experience is the starting point – and to just be present with those thoughts and allow them to be. The key is just being the observer, just being present… with whatever is, and allowing it to be… just as it is.

Today is a wonderful day. And I wonder how I can be even more present with thoughts and just observe them as they arise?
