Above all be of single aim; have a legitimate and useful purpose, and devote yourself unreservedly to it. ~James Allen
The Pad and Points technique is a useful tool to help you prepare for any important meeting, phone call or appointment you might have during the day. After you have practiced it a few times it only takes a few minutes to prepare and yields results far beyond the time spent in preparation. I would even suggest you do this for any encounter you have during the day just to get the practice of doing it. Then notice what results you are getting. So get a notepad and prepare to write some points.
Pad and Points
- Ground yourself and set an energy field by taking in several deep, cleansing breaths to re-mind yourself to shift your attention and access your End State Energy.
- Put a smile on your face to release endorphins in your body.
- Take out a notepad and make a short list or note of any goal, outcome, purpose, objective, or intention for EVERY encounter you have during the day; phone call, meeting, appointment, etc. What do you want to accomplish? Be specific.
- If you want to, list the benefits of your objective or intention. The "reason's why" you want something are far more important than the "something" itself.
- Make a list of points to cover. Be specific.
- Mentally rehearse each point ahead of time for important meetings.
- Focus on the positive end results.
- Then let go of the "wanting" to achieve those results and allow yourself to be detached from the outcome.
- Just be curious and open to change.
- Be in the present moment now.
Hey, it's worth a try to see how it can bring effective results into your life right now.
Today is a beautiful day. I wonder what the next smallest step is I can take to prepare my Pad and Points list prior to any phone call, meeting or appointment I have today?
